This mount for a radio in an escort is by far the best i have seen. Others have a flat bumpy plastic with an old square rear defrost button. This has an oem look to the plastic. The rear defrost button doesn’t look 30 years old. The ac controls are made in to the plastic and not a crappy looking sticker like others. The only complaint i had with this is that you had to use the mounts from the old radio. Which would not be a big deal but the instructions do not tell you to do that. once you do it it lines right up and snugs right in. All in all great product and i would recommend to anyone with an escort.

It works great for an aftermarket. The quality of the plastic is good and was easy to install. The wires in the harness are a bit longer than they need to be, so I trimmed them a little so that the cd playing fits easier.
The only problem I have is that the side plates do not lock into the dash. So the whole dash kit is just pressed in firmly but not securely lock in. This most likely is just a human error on my part.
I would still recommend this product because it works great and is worth it for the price.

This is a well thought out item. It really fills in a need for those wanting to replace the factory stereo on a Ford Escort (1997+)
The included wire harness is well labled & of good quality. The instructions are well thought out though I recommend that you read them ahead of time before the swap. The wires in the harness are a bit longer than they need to be so you may want to trim them. HOWEVER, don’t trim too much.
The *ONLY* issue I have with this item is the ergonomics.
The aftermarket radio is mounted in the center of the unit. While this is probably the only practical location, it might be better off if it were angled slightly upward so that the display on the radio is easier to read.
More importantly, the heater controls are recessed into the unit. From either front seat it’s difficult to read. In future revisions I’d suggest that the manufacturer not recess the heater controls and simply have them mounted flush.
I want to stress, that aside from the ergonimics, this is a great product and does the job very well.
