In an age where many people no longer want a cd player in their vehicle and would prefer a reciever with an input for an iPod, stereo manufacturers must be worried. After all, how can they justify charging us hundreds of dollars for a simple radio with a USB input? Well, Alpine is trying to do just that! $300 for a radio and iPod input??? Give me a break!

My husband has the Alpine x100 and loves it, naturally we assumed that the x300 would be even better and got it for my car. I hate it, it’s much harder to navigate to search for what song you want. The display on the x100 is much easier to see and displays more info, On the x100 when you turn off the car the Ipod also stops playing, on the x300 it continues to play(even if you pause it first), so when you come back to the car it is on a completely different song or the ipod has run out of battery. Sadly it’s too late to return it (I did not buy it on here for this ridiculous price, instead I got it for around $[...]) but I would like to help other people save their money. I’m saving up to just buy another one, the x100 is discontinued but it looks like the x305 is just like it, and not crap like this one.

This isn’t a bad stereo, but its replacements include Imprint/Audyssey, which make them so much better than this one that you would have to pay me more than 400k for me to put it in my car instead. It’s just not worth it anymore. Hold out for a iDA-X305 or iDA-X303 instead. Imprint is a must!
